Press and Media

Press and media page for Luckywebs, the London SEO and web agency founded by Mo Rafi. Interview requests, background and media enquiries.

Luckywebs is a London-based UK SEO and web agency, and this page is for journalists, editors, podcast hosts and event organisers who need background on the agency, comment on search and AI visibility, or an interview with one of the team. Everything below is the short version. For interview requests, headshots or anything we have not covered, the quickest route is our contact page.

A teaching history that goes back to Google Campus

Luckywebs was founded by Mo Rafi, who taught WordPress website building at Google Campus London from 2012. Those workshops were built for people with no technical background who wanted to build and manage their own websites, and the original version of this very page existed to support those London events. The teaching habit never went away. Explaining how the web actually works, in plain language and without jargon, is still how the agency runs every client relationship. The longer version of that journey is on our story.

That era is preserved in the Luckywebs archive, as the pages were first published. Nothing on them has been modernised; each carries a note marking it as historical.

The 2012 Google Campus workshop: the free workshop announcement from November 2012, the February 2013 London workshop, and the original session schedule: registration and website setup, domain names, web hosting, security, website management, SEO, social media and web analytics.

The course years: the WordPress training page, the one-day course, the taster session, the webinar programme, the November 2013 tasters (22 November, 28 November), the free WordPress course, the free website course, the course testimonials and the courses at Google Campus, Campus London, Paddington Library and Kensington Central Library, plus the beginners webinar and the SEO bootcamp at Google Campus.

Pages and posts of the era: the WordPress blog index, the client showcase, free WordPress themes, theme customisation, best WordPress course in London, beginners web design and the WordPress install page.

What Luckywebs does today

The agency has moved a long way since the workshop years. Today Luckywebs works across five areas:

  • Website design and redesign. Fast static Astro builds that load quickly, score well on Core Web Vitals and stay easy to maintain.
  • Search engine optimisation. Technical, local and content SEO for businesses that want measurable growth rather than vanity reports.
  • Generative engine optimisation (GEO). Making sure clients are visible and accurately represented when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants for recommendations.
  • Google Ads management. Paid search run with the same accountability as our organic work.
  • AI-assisted efficiency. Helping businesses use AI tools to cut admin time and speed up day-to-day work.

Hosting comes bundled with the sites we build and manage, on fast LiteSpeed VPS infrastructure with SSL, backups and Cloudflare in front. The old standalone hosting packages are retired.

Topics we can speak on

If you need a quote, a guest for a podcast episode or a speaker for an event, these are the subjects where we have direct, current experience:

  • AI visibility for businesses. Whether AI assistants recommend your business, and what changes that. Our guide on whether ChatGPT recommends your business is a good primer on how we approach it.
  • Local SEO for service businesses. How trades, clinics and professional firms win local search. See our local SEO checklist and our guide to Google Business Profile optimisation.
  • Website speed and static rebuilds. Why we moved client sites from heavy CMS installs to static Astro builds, and what that does for performance.
  • Paid search on lean budgets. Running Google Ads for small and mid-sized businesses without waste.
  • Teaching non-technical owners. Lessons from years of workshops on helping founders run their own web presence.

For a sense of how we write and think, the blog is the best starting point.
