This course is helpful and fun. If you are completely new to the topic, you will leave with an understanding of the tools that are available to you and how to start using them. With some practice, you will soon be ready for one more advanced Luckyweb's courses. Rafi is a very patient teacher and he explains tasks in a clear manner so that also complete beginners have the opportunity to follow and learn. This is a fun class with interesting students from different backgrounds and industries. I recommend it to anyone who is new to WordPress and is thinking about building a website with it.

Book a free Luckywebs consultation: a plain English review of your website, SEO, AI visibility and Google Ads, with clear next steps and no obligation.
A Luckywebs consultation is free, informal and built to be useful on its own: one session in which we look at your website, your Google rankings, your visibility in AI assistants and any ads you are running, then tell you plainly what we would fix first. We are a London-based UK SEO and web agency, rated 4.7 stars on Google from 60 reviews, and there is no charge and no obligation to take things further.
What the session covers
When this page first went live, back in our WordPress workshop days, it asked one question: what do you need help with? The tools have changed a great deal since then, but the question has not. We shape every session around your answer, and it usually touches four areas.
Website review. We look at design, speed, mobile experience and whether the site actually persuades visitors to get in touch. If a rebuild is the right answer we will say so, and explain why we now build fast static sites with Astro, with hosting bundled in as part of the build (fast LiteSpeed VPS infrastructure, SSL, backups and Cloudflare) rather than sold as a separate package. There is more on how that works on our web hosting page.
Search engine optimisation. Where you rank today, which searches you are missing, what technical problems are holding you back, and how well your Google Business Profile is working for you. If you would rather try some of this yourself first, our DIY SEO guide and local SEO checklist are good places to start.
AI visibility (GEO). More and more customers ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI results for a recommendation instead of scrolling through links. Generative engine optimisation is the work of making sure your business is the one those tools mention. In the session we check how you currently show up and what would move the needle. For a taste of the problem, read Does ChatGPT recommend your business?
Google Ads. If you already run ads, we look for wasted spend, poor search terms and broken conversion tracking. If you do not, we will tell you honestly whether paid search makes sense for your market. Either way, we check that your analytics can actually tell you where enquiries come from.
If time allows, we also cover AI-assisted efficiency: practical ways to use AI tools to take repetitive admin and content chores off your plate.
Who it suits
- Small and local businesses that depend on being found online. Our small business page explains how we work with firms of this size.
- Established companies whose enquiries have slipped over the past year or two and nobody can quite say why.
- Anyone weighing up whether a website is worth the effort. If you are still at that stage, start with who needs a website? and the benefits of having a website.
- Owners who keep hearing about AI search and want a straight answer on what it means for their business, without the hype.
What to prepare
You do not need to prepare much, but a little groundwork makes the session sharper:
- Your website address, and a note of anything about the site that bothers you.
- A rough idea of what success looks like: more calls, more bookings, more online sales.
- The names of two or three competitors you keep losing work to.
- Access to Google Analytics or Search Console if you have it. Helpful, not essential.
- If you run Google Ads, a rough monthly spend figure to hand.
- Optional homework: skim our best free SEO tools round-up and the Google Business Profile optimisation guide, and bring your questions.
Who you will speak to
Luckywebs was founded by Mo Rafi, who taught WordPress website building at Google Campus London from 2012. Teaching is still how we approach consultations: plain English, no jargon, no scare tactics. Depending on what you need, you may also hear from Katy Mironenko, our Head of SEO, or Robert Malnieks, our Client Strategy Director. The longer version of how we went from classroom to agency is on our story page.
What results can look like
No two businesses start from the same place, so we will not promise you a number on a first call. For context, recent client results include:
- Circa London: enquiries up 40%
- RakLAW: leads up 60%
- TWF Roller Garage Doors: revenue up 44%
- East Anglia Ultrasound: bookings up 52%
- Powertools Direct: sales up 22%
What happens next
At the end of the session we agree next steps together. Sometimes that is a piece of work we quote for; sometimes it is a short list of fixes you can make yourself and no further contact unless you want it. Both outcomes are fine with us. To book, use the contact form and tell us briefly what you need help with, and we will come back to you with a time.
Great experience, very informative. The course was an excellent overview of setting up a website, then Rafi broke down each section into steps to follow. Rafi was very generous with his time overrunning to allow for Q&A. I feel confident now to create my own website Thank you

Read moreI have been working with Rafi since 2011. firstly with the Enterprise society at University College London, where Rafi run two Wordpress courses during our events. These courses were very well attended and we received very positive feedback. Secondly, Rafi has been helping me build a blog with high profile interviews, targetted at the well-educated public in my home country (Brazil). We've been having Skype sessions combined with screenshare, during which Rafi helped me customise theme, homepage, posts, adding slider images, resizing images, etc.The amazing thing is that Rafi teaches me the steps, so I become independent in building the website. Moreover, Rafi is very approachable and patient. I highly recommend Rafi .

His workshops are brilliant, where he makes everything quite straightforward to understand, even if you have little or no experience of websites or coding. I would recommend him at any point. Great job, Rafi!
