Luckywebs no longer sells web hosting as a standalone product. Hosting today is something we include and manage as part of the websites we build: fast LiteSpeed VPS infrastructure, SSL certificates, backups and Cloudflare protection, all set up and looked after by the same team that built the site. This page used to sell hosting packages with control panels and unlimited web space, and in the early years many of our workshop attendees signed up for exactly that. The market has moved on, and so have we. Here is how hosting works with us now, and what to do if you only need hosting on its own.
Why we retired standalone hosting packages
When this page first went live, hosting was sold as a product in its own right: a control panel, a bundle of web space and a support line. That made sense when most owners built and maintained their own WordPress sites, which is exactly what we taught people to do at Google Campus. Today the performance of your hosting is inseparable from the way your site is built. A fast site is the product of both together: lightweight pages served from well-configured infrastructure. Selling one without the other meant taking responsibility for only half of the outcome. So we stopped. We now provide hosting only for sites we build or manage, where we can stand behind the speed and uptime of the whole stack rather than one layer of it.
What our managed hosting includes
Every site we build and look after runs on infrastructure we manage end to end. In practical terms that means:
- Fast LiteSpeed VPS hosting tuned for the static and lightweight sites we build
- SSL certificates set up and renewed for you
- Cloudflare in front of the site for security and caching
- Backups of the site source, so any change can be rolled back
- Monitoring and updates handled by us, not left to you
There is no control panel to learn and nothing for you to maintain. You get a fast, secure website and one team responsible for keeping it that way. Speed matters commercially as well as technically: page experience feeds both your Google rankings and the patience of your visitors, which is why we treat hosting as part of the performance work, not an add-on.
What if you only need hosting?
If you are looking for standalone hosting for a site we did not build, we are honest about it: we are not the right supplier, and we would rather point you in the right direction than sell you something we no longer offer. Mainstream UK providers cover that ground well. Hosting questions we hear most
Do you host websites you did not build?
Generally no. We host and manage the sites we build or take over for ongoing work, because that is the only way we can take responsibility for speed and uptime across the whole stack. If we take on your SEO or a rebuild, migrating your hosting to our infrastructure is part of the job.
Is hosting charged separately?
Hosting and care are part of our build and management work rather than a separate product with its own price list. What that covers is agreed plainly with you before any work starts.
My site feels slow. Is it the hosting?
Sometimes, but less often than people think. Bloated themes, heavy plugins and unoptimised images slow more sites down than servers do. We check both sides before recommending anything, and we will tell you honestly if a hosting move alone will not fix it. A consultation is the quickest way to get a straight answer.
What happened to the old Luckywebs hosting packages?
They were retired. The awards, control panels and unlimited-space packages this page once described belonged to a different era of the business, when we resold hosting alongside our WordPress workshops. We have kept this page at its original address for the sake of history and honesty: what we offer now is described above.
